About Trend Weekly
Trend Weekly started with a simple frustration: too many news sites in the UK either bury the story under jargon or strip it down so much you’re left with no real understanding of what’s actually going on. We wanted something in between, writing that respects your time but doesn’t insult your intelligence.
We cover the things that shape everyday life in Britain: politics and current affairs, the tech and AI tools people are actually using, business decisions that ripple down to ordinary households, and the lifestyle, entertainment, sport and travel stories people genuinely talk about. Not everything that happens, just the things that matter enough to explain properly.
How we work
Every piece on Trend Weekly goes through the same basic discipline before it’s published:
We check where the information comes from: Whether it’s a government announcement, a company statement, or a developing news story, we trace it back to a primary source rather than repeating what another outlet already said.
We write with context, not just facts: A headline about interest rates or an AI product launch means little without knowing why it happened and who it affects. Our job is to fill that gap.
We update when things change: Stories evolve, especially in tech and business. When new information comes in, we revise the article and note when it was last updated.
We separate reporting from opinion: Where we do offer analysis or a point of view, it’s clearly framed as such; we don’t dress opinion up as neutral reporting.
Who's behind Trend Weekly
Trend Weekly is run by a small team of UK-based writers and editors with backgrounds in journalism, technology, and business reporting. We’re not a faceless content farm; real people research, write, and edit every article, and every piece carries a byline so you know who wrote it and can hold us accountable for it.
We’re independent. We’re not owned by a media conglomerate or a tech company, which means our coverage isn’t shaped by protecting anyone else’s interests,, including our own advertisers.
Why trust us
We won’t pretend to be perfect; no publication is. What we can promise is that mistakes get corrected publicly, not quietly edited away, and that we’ll always tell you when a piece contains our own analysis rather than straight reporting.
If you spot an error, disagree with something we’ve written, or think we’ve missed an angle on a story, we want to hear about it. You can reach us through our [Contact page], and we read every message that comes in.
